Discover - Halal Friendly Hotels in Qatar

In mere 40 years, this Gulf state has transformed itself from the poorest country in the region to having the highest per-capita income in the world. Qatar is very passionate about art and artworks and has commissioned world-renowned artists to create masterpieces. Ready to host the 2022 FIFA world cup, the country is developing its sports offerings and halal-friendly leisure activities rapidly.

Over half of the country’s population lives in and around Doha. The only long drive is to the beaches when you have to cross the desert. However, this is one memorable ride where you can enjoy a lovely night in the desert in any of the camping areas. The sight of the clear sky and beautiful stars is nothing less than a delight for overseas travellers.

Connecting 100 different destinations, Qatar has become the hottest transit in the world. Apart from just being of a global gateway, this country has a lot to offer to avid travellers who are up for exploring this small Gulf nation. The thrilling dune bashing ride, checking out the Alzubarah Fort, and visiting Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum are not to be missed.

The skyscrapers, malls, and man-made beaches suggest that Doha is set to be the next Dubai. But the country has a lot more in common with Saudi Arabia when it comes to culture. Qatar has an attractive sandy-white coastline, rich museums, and interesting desert activities for Muslim travellers. The country is worth visiting during halal holidays as it is a perfect blend of modernity and traditionalism.

Highlights

Museum of Islamic Arts - In the entire Persian Gulf, this museum is one of its kind and is dedicated to preserving the history and artefacts of Islamic arts. The two cream-colored limestone buildings exhibit a fantastic form of Islamic architecture, with massive see-through windows giving an ecstatic view of the modern skyline in Doha. The museum is filled with ceramics, manuscripts, jewellery, textiles, woodwork, metalwork, fabric, glass, and coins collected since the late 1980s. You will find glimpses of some rare pieces, including an incredible collection of gold and silver coins.

Souq Waqif - The vibrant complex is one of the most atmospheric places to be explored in Qatar. This has been a trading place for centuries since the early Bedouin days, who would bring their sheep and goats to trade for essentials. The market has been re-developed to fit the modern requirements but still carries the essence of its ancientness. The mud-rendered shops and the exposed timber beams along with the beautifully resorted 19th-century Qatari buildings present a superb sight.

The Pearl - This artificial island spans 4 kilometres and is loaded with the most glamorous sights. It features the Mediterranean-style marinas lined with yachts, residential towers, villas, and luxurious hotels. It is a shopper’s heaven with all the brands, boutiques, and showrooms. One can never get enough of all the wonderful options to shop from. The dining spots have dozens of restaurants with mouth-watering food – ranging from fresh ice cream to a 5-star dining experience with a splendid view of the sea.

Katara - Located at the eastern coast between The Pearl and the West Bay, Katara is a village which exhibits the true culture of Qatar. All year long, this place hosts festivals, tournaments, and special festivities. During the Muslim holidays, these celebrations are enhanced making it a great spot for the locals as well as the tourists. There are multiple developmental projects still under process, which are going to enhance the appeal of this area and improve tourism for the country.
