Discover - Halal friendly holidays in Singapore

Singapore is much more than the sum of its numerous attractions. It’s constantly evolving, reinventing, and reimagining itself, with people who are passionate about creating new possibilities. It’s where foodies, explorers, collectors, action seekers, culture shapers, and socialisers meet and new experiences are created every day.

There’s something for everyone from world-class theme parks, iconic waterfront attractions, the world’s first night safari, hidden gems to explore in charming neighbourhoods, lush greenery. Discover how a City in the Garden is rooted in history and heritage. Stroll along the colourful shophouses in Haji Lane. Or trek off the beaten path and walk atop trees at MacRitchie Reservoir. If you’re passionate about discovering places, here’s where nature lovers, history buffs, backpackers, city trippers, trekkers, discoverers, sightseers meet. Stumble through snaking alleyways and restored shophouses that lead to the Sultan Mosque and take in the charming and laid-back neighbourhood of Kampong Glam before visiting a traditional Muslim supplies shop to browse Persian carpets, kebaya (traditional Malay dresses) and perfumes handmade the old-school way.

Taking a trip down the city’s memory lane wouldn’t be complete without a tour of cinnamon, coriander and crowns. Before Sir Stamford Raffles stepped foot on the island, Singapore was ruled by Malay sultans, and it was one of the crown jewels along the spice trade route. Embark on this trail to learn more about our pre-colonial days.

The Sultan Masjid is one of the highlights, and well worth making a jamat prayer where people from all walks of life come to meet. With its massive golden domes and huge prayer hall, Sultan Mosque is a must-see if you’re in the historic Kampong Glam district. Masjid Sultan, as it is also known, is a prominent mosque in Singapore and one of the country’s most impressive religious buildings. It’s not often you come across a mosque named after a woman. Hajjah Fatimah Mosque takes its name from its wealthy donor, a businesswoman who donated the land the mosque is built on in the 19th century. It used to be the site of her own house but after several robberies and a fire, she decided to move and built a mosque there instead.
